There has always been a thin line between the virtuosos of the classical world and the titans of the thrash scene. Both demand relentless precision, a flair for the dramatic, and a total mastery of the fretboard.

Today, we are thrilled to finally release our latest song in our upcoming project: A Thrash Metal reimagining of the Spanish masterpiece, “Malagueña.”

The Vision behind the Fusion

"Malagueña" is iconic. Originally part of Ernesto Lecuona's Suite Andalucía, it has been interpreted by everyone from Paco de Lucía to flamenco masters worldwide. But at its heart it seems, the song has always had a "metal" soul. The aggressive rhythmic strumming (rasgueado) and the dark, Phrygian dominant scales are the exact same building blocks found in the heaviest thrash riffs of the 80s.

Our goal was to bridge that gap. We wanted to keep the romantic, haunting melody of the classical guitar intact while introducing the high-octane energy of double-kick drums and high-gain distortion.

The InstraMetal sound is an intense collaboration, currently being meticulously crafted by three devoted musicians:

Soren (Classical Guitar): The master of the nylon strings. Soren brings the precision, technique, and melodic complexity of composers like Bach and Tárrega, weaving stunning, intricate counterpoint and harmonic depth into the chaos.

Luke (Electric Guitar & Bass): The architect of the aggression. Luke harnesses the sheer power of distortion and rhythm, laying down crushing riffs, lightning-fast solos, and a thunderous bass foundation that anchors Soren's classical virtuosity firmly in the realm of metal.

David (Drums): The rhythmic powerhouse. David is the engine that drives InstraMetal, delivering the relentless double-bass drumming, blast beats, and dynamic fills essential to any top-tier thrash band, all while adapting to the sophisticated time signatures and structures of our fusion.

We are currently deep in the forge, spending countless hours perfecting the balance between these two worlds. It's a challenging, rewarding process, and we are dedicated to ensuring that every track delivers both the technical sophistication of a concerto and the visceral punch of a mosh pit anthem. We're not just tacking classical pieces onto metal; we are creating a seamless, explosive fusion.
